GOLFTEC Responds to Golfsmith closures by building new standalone centers.

Following Golfsmith's recent absorption into Golf Galaxy, GOLFTEC has finalized plans to open more than 30 brand new, standalone Improvement Centers in early 2017.

GOLFTEC has just come off a record year in 2016, which continues its strong, year-over-year growth. The recent closing of many Golfsmith locations, some of which independently housed co-located GOLFTECs, has enabled GOLFTEC to accelerate plans for new standalone locations that offer Students an improved learning experience from an entirely new in-center design and layout.

"It's going to be an exciting year for GOLFTEC in 2017," said GolfTEC CEO Joe Assell. "While Golfsmith's transition into Golf Galaxy happened quickly, it presented an opportunity for us to rapidly accelerate our desire for more standalone locations that feature our new in-center design and an improved student experience.

"We appreciate those students who have beared with us through the transition until their standalone Center opens, but we're confident these positive changes will pay dividends to their GOLFTEC experience and our continued mission to help people play better golf."

• GOLFTEC's top priority is ensuring our Students' continued golf improvement with as little disruption as possible. We sincerely appreciate your understanding as we actively pursue options for a seamless transition process.

• GOLFTEC is not tied to Golfsmith. We are an independent, healthy company reporting record year-over-year growth.

• GOLFTEC is an independent golf instruction business that previously co-located within some, but not all, Golfsmith locations. The Golfsmith transition has merely accelerated GOLFTEC's plans to build new, standalone locations in the vast majority of affected markets in the coming months.

1. Can I continue my lessons at another GolfTEC?
   
   Yes. You can use your membership at any of our current locations. For a complete list, please visit our Locations Page.

2. If I don't want to go the next closest Center, what are my options?
   
   Please visit our Locations Page to find a Center that is convenient for you.

3. Are you part of Golfsmith / DICK's Sporting Goods / Golf Galaxy?
   
   No. As stated above, GolfTEC is a separate and independent golf instruction company who co-locates within some, but not all, Golfsmith (and soon, Golf Galaxy) locations. We are aggressively expanding our business to help more golfers swing better and play better.

4. Are you going to open another GolfTEC in my area? How will I find out?
   
   GolfTEC's aggressive expansion plans include more than 30 new standalone locations in early 2017. We may build even more if it makes sense to do so. This page is your first resource to find news of new Center openings. You should also speak with your Coach and visit the Locations Page to find new Centers near you.
